SS Daniel J. Morrell

a violent November storm in 1966 tore the 600 ft Morrell in two. the stern section continued to steam out of control before sinking 5 miles away from the bow section. seeing a huge steel freighter lying on the bottom of Lake Huron is a haunting reminder of this tragic story. only 1 person survived the sinking of the Daniel J. Morrell. the stern section lies over 63m/215 ft deep.
