SS Milwaukee
built to shuttle train cars across Lake Michigan, the SS Milwaukee was last seen Oct 22, 1929 leaving Milwaukee with a full cargo and 52 crew onboard. it’s believed that some of the train cars came loose in the storm and damaged the stern sea gate. today the SS Milwaukee rests in 40m/130 ft. the pilot house is intact but lies off the port bow a short distance from the main wreck site. sadly, there were no survivors from the sinking of the SS Milwaukee.
